A further selection of images taken in November 2005 in and around the beautiful city of Salzburg. For a birds eye view take the 151 bus up to the top of the Gaisberg mountain or the lift up the Monschberg. From here you can walk along high above Salzburg to the Hohensalzburg fortress. From the Old Town a funicular railway whisks you to the top, however. when its not running its a long steep climb to the Fortress.
The main attraction in Mozarts, Salzburg has to be the Old Town, here you can spend endless hours wandering the many lanes and squares full of shops. cafes, restaurants and interesting buildings and museums.
Getting around Salzburg is easy, simply get a 24hour bus ticket which is valid on all the city buses and trolleybuses. To get to the Gaisberg bus 151 runs from Mirabellplatz in the centre but the 24 hour ticket will only take you to the city boundary, from where you have to pay for the uphill ride to the top. Pick a clear day as the mist and clouds can end up obscuring your view down on Salzburg.
